Applications are not yet open. Applications submitted before the applicable intake opens will be voided.
Who can apply?
A resident applicant is someone whose primary residence is within the District of Squamish. New resident applicants must provide government-issued identification showing their primary residential address, such as a driver’s licence.
If your primary residence is outside the District of Squamish, apply as a non-resident. Resident applicants receive priority, and non-resident spaces may be limited.
Applicants DO NOT require a PAL to apply or be a member. However, a valid PAL is required to use the firearm ranges as a member unaccompanied.
How to apply
Check your eligibility. Confirm whether you qualify as a resident or non-resident and review the membership information and annual fees.
Arrange sponsorship or request an interview. Your sponsor must be a current member who has been in good standing for at least one year. If you do not know a sponsor, follow the interview instructions below.
Apply during your application window. Apply online or submit a paper application. Online applications are strongly recommended. Pay the applicable membership fee and the additional $100 initiation fee when applying. Membership is granted based on availability and on a first come first serve basis. There is no waitlist.
Await approval. Available spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. All applications are subject to acceptance by the Board of Directors on behalf of the membership.
Complete orientation. New members must attend orientation before receiving their membership card and access to the Club.
Do not have a sponsor?
You can request an interview when applying online. If applying on paper, include a letter explaining that you do not have a sponsor. The Club executive will contact you to arrange an interview.
Fees, capacity and refunds
The annual membership fee and an additional $100 initiation fee are payable up front. See the annual membership fees for the applicable membership category.
Submitting an application and payment does not guarantee acceptance. If there are not enough spaces, the Club will notify you and refund all collected fees to your credit card or rip up your cheque if you applied via paper application.
Dishonoured cheques incur a $50 charge. Any issued membership will be cancelled or suspended until the membership fee and NSF charge are paid in full.
Orientation
The Club will email orientation dates to new members who require orientation. Attendance is mandatory before a membership card is issued and Club access is granted.
The orientation cutoff is May 15. Applicants requiring orientation after this date are subject to a $50 orientation fee.
