Family Fun Fishing Day

Family fun fishing day was moderately attended, largely due to the weather but all who attended had fun. Brittany Mueller, the CO who organized the event, did a great job running the derby. There were a few fish , on the hooks, but only 3 were actually landed, two by the same 3.5 year old, Jeremy Jensen. The focus of this derby was to get kids fishing and to have fun doing so. One of the high points was when the Freshwater Fisheries Society showed up to stock the lake, the kids had as much fun putting fish into the lake as trying to fish for them. Events, such as Family Fun Fishing Day, are an opportunity for our Club to partner up with other groups to hold similar derbies and to reflect a positive image of our Club. Special mention goes to Don Walzak, for all his knowledge and help that made the day go smoothly. And a special thank you goes out to Peter Lewis for stepping up to spearhead things for SVRGC.

A BIG Thank you goes out to the sponsors: Canadian Tire Squamish, Nesters Market, The Bean - Brackendale and Freshwater Fisheries Society
